Brushing and Rolling Application
Directly before applying product, add TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 to product slowly and carefully to avoid spillage. Mix into product thoroughly until desired viscosity is reached.
- For most applications, adding up to 10% Special Brushing Thinner 100 will extend the working time, wet edge time, flow, and self-leveling properties of TotalBoat coatings.
- It is recommended to start with the least amount of Special Brushing Thinner 100 and add more product little by little until the desired viscosity and feel is achieved.
- Thinning more than a product specifies may result in reduced gloss, sags, drips, excessive dry times, or an overall poor coating performance.
Cold Weather Brushing and Rolling Applications
TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 can be used at any temperature range. However, it may be advantageous to use TotalBoat Spray Thinner 101 for cold weather (under 60°F) brushing and rolling applications to prevent excessive dry times. Spray Thinner 101 provides excellent flow properties when used as a proprietary cold weather brushing or rolling thinner for the associated TotalBoat paints, primers, and varnishes.
Tool and Equipment Cleanup
TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 works as a product cleaner or tool/equipment cleaner when used with any of the compatible TotalBoat products.
Surface Preparation Solvent Wipe
TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 can also function as a surface preparation solvent wipe prior to applying compatible TotalBoat products.
- Only use this product as a solvent wipe when the substrate is compatible or cured sufficiently to be in contact with this product.
- Only use clean, lint-free cotton rags for solvent wipe applications.
- Change out rags frequently.
