Yes, you can wet out fiberglass chopped strand mat (CSM) with TotalBoat High Performance 2:1 Epoxy or TotalBoat Traditional 5:1 Epoxy. But because epoxy won't dissolve the styrene-soluble binder that holds the fiberglass strands together, the mat will remain white, instead of becoming transparent.

The result is a strong laminate that's stiff, but unable to conform to complex contours.

If your goal is to be able to drape the wet out mat over curves and shape it, saturate the fiberglass mat with TotalBoat Polyester Laminating Resin, or TotalBoat Polyester Finishing Resin, or vinyl ester resin. These resins will dissolve the binder, making the mat transparent and easy to shape.
