STEP 1 – SAND YOUR PIECE OF DECORATIVE WOOD

• This is the piece of wood that will be sealed in epoxy, so sand it to make the epoxy stick.
• Remove the sanding dust and do a quick solvent wipe to remove contaminants.

STEP 2 – SEAL THE WOOD & SAND IT

• Seal the wood with one or two thin coats of mixed epoxy to prevent air bubbles when you pour the epoxy in layers.
• Sand the cured seal coat to make the first poured layer of epoxy stick to it.

STEP 3 – BUILD THE RIVER TABLE MOLD

• Build a mold to contain your wood and epoxy.
• Line the inside of the mold with packing tape to prevent epoxy from leaking out.

STEP 4 – MEASURE & MIX EPOXY & HARDENER

• Dispense 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener (by volume) into a clean mixing cup & stir to combine completely.
• After epoxy is mixed thoroughly, add powder pigments, as desired. A little bit of pigment goes a long way!

STEP 5 – POUR MIXED EPOXY INTO THE MOLD

• Pour each layer no more than 1/4" thick.
• To pop bubbles, wave a heat gun back and forth quickly, above the surface.
• If you’re doing multiple pours, wait 2-6 hours between pours.
• Do the next pour when the previous layer is still in the gel state.

STEP 6 – DEMOLD & SAND

• Wait about two days for the epoxy to cure completely.
• Remove the piece from the mold and sand from 120 down to 3000 grit.

STEP 7 – BUFF & POLISH

• Apply TotalBoat TotalShine Finishing Compound and buff.
• Apply TotalBoat Premium Boat Wax and polish to a brilliant shine!

STEP 8 – ADD LEGS

• Add legs to your project to make it a table!
