To keep colors separate in TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy, rely on controlling the epoxy's viscosity. Higher viscosity will help prevent bleeding.
You can add pigment once the epoxy increases about 4 to 5°F from its starting temperature while still in the mixing cup. It should be around the point in the reaction where viscosity is starting to build or will be building very soon, and you will need to work quickly.
The temperature increase should occur about 20 to 45 minutes after the resin and hardener have been mixed under normal conditions.*
*Actual temperature change and the time it takes for this to occur may vary outside this range depending on the starting mass of mixed epoxy, the ambient temperature, and the temperature of the epoxy when it is mixed. Always perform a test, if possible, to ensure that it works as desired.
