Yes, you can apply TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy to an aluminum surface and it'll bond strongly - but only if you've prepped the surface properly, and you apply the TableTop Epoxy within 1 hour of preparing the surface. To begin prepping the aluminum substrate, clean the surface to remove all trace of contaminants, then sand until the surface is rough and the metal is shiny and clean, and/or etch with an aluminum etching product. Etching the metal immediately after sanding creates the best surface for epoxy to adhere to. After etching, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean, fresh water and dry it completely. Apply TableTop Epoxy within one hour of etching or sanding the aluminum.
