How to create beautiful epoxy jewelry with TotalBoat Artist Resin

Even if you’ve never used epoxy before, you’ll find it easy to follow these simple steps to create your own one-of-a-kind epoxy jewelry.

Protective gloves, eye protection, and clothing protection
If your work area isn’t well ventilated, wear a half-face respirator with vapor cartridges.
A work area protected by plastic sheeting or a silicone mat, to catch any overflow
A heat gun for popping any bubbles that form in the epoxy
(Optional) Jewelry findings and decorative items to embed in your jewelry pieces

STEP 1 – GET EVERYTHING READY Lay out your molds and materials. Make sure your work surface is level. Safety glasses, gloves, and an apron are recommended to protect your eyes, hands, and clothes.
STEP 2 – MIX RESIN & HARDENER Measure Artist Resin components at a 1 to 1 ratio by volume Combine enough to make a few colors for your jewelry. We recommend starting with 2-3 oz. of each part for a combined 4-6 oz. total. Stir very well for at least 3 minutes. Stir slowly to avoid bubbles, scraping the sides of the cup.
STEP 3 – ADD PIGMENTS Add pigment powders or alcohol inks. Remember, a little color goes a long way!
STEP 4 – POUR Pour the mixed epoxy into the molds. Slow and steady pouring reduces air bubbles.
STEP 5 – POP AIR BUBBLES To pop bubbles, wave a heat gun back and forth quickly, above the surface. The heat helps bring bubbles to the surface for quick removal.
STEP 6 – ADD MORE COLOR OR EMBEDDED OBJECTS Use the epoxy-filled syringes & droppers, or alcohol inks, to add more color. Now’s also the time to embed any objects, such as tiny gold leaf flakes, crystals, shells — whatever you like!
STEP 7 – REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY Wait about 24 hours for the epoxy to cure completely. Pop your pretties out of the molds — they will release easily!
