Yes, TotalBoat Epoxy can be applied on top of SMC. While SMC has a mold release agent which can make adhesion difficult, epoxy can still be used effectively with careful preparation. The most important step is to remove any residual mold release agent from the SMC surface. This can be done by sanding with a 36 grit disc or a structured tooth bit, and then wiping the area with acetone.
