TotalBoat Clear High Performance Epoxy can be applied over TotalBoat Fathom Deep Pour Epoxy Resin. High Performance Epoxy can be applied directly to newly cured Fathom epoxy with no other surface preparation needed when it has just cured to a firm state and cooled to normal room temperature.

If a few days have passed since it cured, it is best to wash the surface with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Allow the surface to dry completely, then wipe the surface clean with denatured alcohol or acetone before applying High Performance Epoxy. Under most circumstances, abrading the surface is not required before applying High Performance Epoxy.

If there are surface imperfections in the Fathom, or if maximum bond strength is desired, wipe the surface of the Fathom clean with a cotton rag dampened with acetone, then sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper, remove all sanding residue, and apply High Performance Epoxy.
