A surfacing agent, such as a liquid wax additive, can be added to TotalBoat Gelcoat without wax in the last coat to allow the gelcoat to fully cure hard. You can also apply a final coat of gelcoat with wax over the layers of gelcoat without wax to allow all layers to fully cure.
PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) may be sprayed or brushed onto gelcoat without wax once it has tacked up to allow it to fully cure. For a small repair, wax paper may be taped over the gelcoat without wax once it has tacked up. This seals off the oxygen so the gelcoat can fully cure.
