The cure time of TotalBoat Polyester Structural Marine Repair Putty is dependent on the temperature, catalyst amount, and mass of Polyester Structural Repair Putty. At a 100 g mass catalyzed with 1% MEKP at 77°F, the cure time is 20-30 minutes.

Polyester Structural Repair Putty is not an air-dry product. To allow it to cure hard, polyvinyl alcohol can be sprayed on the surface, paraffin wax can be mixed into the final coat, or gelcoat or polyester resin with wax can be applied over the putty. Vacuum bagging will also starve the putty of oxygen, allowing it to fully cure.
