TotalBoat Lust varnish and TotalBoat Gleam 2.0 marine spar varnish are oil-based varnishes. They should be able to tolerate freezing, but allowing them to be exposed to continuous cycles of deep-freezing and thawing may cause the varnish to degrade. We recommend storing these products in a cool, dry place, off the floor and away from windows, so there is no chance of freezing. Note that oil-based varnish is more resilizient than water-based varnish, which should not be allowed to freeze.
