TotalBoat TotalProtect Epoxy Barrier Coat Primer is required when applying TotalBoat TotalTread Non-Skid Marine Deck Paint to bare wood. Previously painted surfaces in poor condition should be sanded smooth to the bare substrate, and applying primer will improve adhesion. Properly prepared fiberglass does not require primer.
