Don't confuse the Tg (Glass Transition Temperature) with the HDT (Heat Deflection Temperature). The Tg refers to the temperature at which a material changes state from a solid, rigid form to a pliable, rubbery material. This number is generally used to define a polymer's other mechanical properties, rather than being considered a mechanical property of the polymer. The HDT indicates how a material performs under stress at higher temperatures (stiffness). The HDT is a more defined, and accurate high temperature for most applications.
