TotalBoat Gleam spar varnish is recommended to be thinned exclusively with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 for brushing purposes. Alternative options in the market comprise Interlux Brushing Liquid 333, Pettit Brushing Thinner 120, and Epifanes Thinner for Paint and Varnish (for 1-part products only). However, TotalBoat cannot ensure the same level of product satisfaction or application quality if any of these alternatives are used to thin Gleam varnish.

IMPORTANT! Do not use mineral spirits, acetone, denatured alcohol, toluene, MEK, or generic hardware store paint thinner with Gleam. While xylene can be utilized for spray applications, it may not provide the optimal flow or working time required for brushing applications.
