One of the remarkable features of TotalBoat Halcyon water-based varnish is its quick recoating time of as little as 1 hour once dry to the touch. However, it is recommended to limit recoating to a maximum of 5 coats per day. While each layer must be tack-free before recoating, the dry films of Halcyon do not have sufficient time to achieve optimal hardness, making them vulnerable to scratches, imprints, or dents. Applying more than 5 coats in a day can significantly delay the time required for sanding or reaching the desired level of hardness for regular use.
