It is not recommended to buff TotalBoat Wet Edge or other 1-part topside paints. One-part paints have a softer composition compared to activated urethane coatings, making them more susceptible to damage during buffing. Over-buffing can lead to a smudged appearance as the paint film gets worn away, reducing UV protection and causing the finish to haze or fade quickly.

While buffing old, faded paint might temporarily enhance shine, it is not a long-term solution. To maintain the best longevity and gloss of 1-part paints, it is advisable to reapply a fresh coat every few years or at the first signs of fading.
