Typically, there are two reasons you might see wrinkling in the finish after applying TotalBoat Wet Edge:
- The Wet Edge paint was applied too thick. Wet Edge should be applied in thin coats. The recommended film thickness per coat is 1-2 mils dry (3 mils wet).
- The previous coat of Wet Edge did not cure long enough or the solvent in the wet paint affected the previous coat. Do not attempt to apply the next coat of Wet Edge until the previous coat has cured enough to be sanded. Lightly sand between coats with 220-grit sandpaper, and wipe the surface clean with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 before applying the next coat.
Troubleshooting: Any wrinkles are easy to fix. Just allow the coating to cure completely, sand it, remove residue, and apply another coat of Wet Edge, as directed.
